,Hemlocks, also known as Tsugas, are medium-size to large evergreen trees, ranging from 20 to 65 m tall, with a conical to irregular crown. They have been used for many years to build train tracks by the Canadian Pacific company.

Today, this tree is endangered by the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid insect which creates an extreme amount of damage to natural stands of hemlock.
